How to perform

  1. Hang from a secure bar with a firm grip and your body still.

  2. Brace, then lift your legs in front while gently curling the pelvis upward.

  3. Stop at the height you can reach without swinging; bend the knees to reduce the load.

  4. Lower slowly and settle any movement before repeating.

Key cues

  • Start each rep from stillness.
  • Keep the grip secure.
  • Control the pelvis as well as the legs.

Common mistakes

  • Kipping the legs upward.
  • Dropping the legs and arching at the bottom.
  • Continuing after the grip begins to fail.
